Sacred Art of Living is blossoming in Canada! We have completed a very successful four units of the Healing the Healers Series and launched an new Anamcara Project (2019-2021) based in St. Albert, Alberta (just outside of Edmonton). We can now accept payments in Candadian dollars, which should make participation even easier for those throughout Canada.

Debbie Doornbos, our new Candadian Director, is available to answer questions in regards to any of our programs in the region. She can be contacted at or call 541-213-8845. See her biography below:

Debbie Doornbos – Canadian Director

Sacred Art of Living Center is delighted to name Debbie Doornbos of Edmonton, Alberta, Canadian Director for SALC—the first-ever!

Debbie is a retreat leader and spiritual director with vast experience in adult education, facilitation, marketing, and program development.  For the last eleven years, she utilized these skills as Program Director at Providence Renewal Centre (PRC) in Edmonton. Debbie Doornbos first became acquainted with Sacred Art of Living when she heard Richard Groves speak at the Los Angeles Religious Education Conference in 2017.  This led her to take Sacred Art of Living & Dying workshops and to join the Anamcara Apprenticeship program.   As program director at PRC, she encouraged Richard to bring SALC programming to Canada and over the past few years has created an impressive network among health care, university and faith communities. PRC became the location for SALC’S first four-part Healing the Healers workshop series in Alberta (called Sacred Art of Living & Dying in the United States).  The series has enjoyed great success with over 65 program participants.

SALC and Catholic Social Services (CSS)

Sacred Art of Living is pleased to work with Catholic Social Services to bring Healing the Healers training and support to their staff in Edmonton, Alberta, and the surrounding area.

Catholic Social Services makes life better for Albertans by lifting people and families in lasting ways. For nearly 60 years, CSS has been providing help to the most vulnerable. This mission has taken the agency into many different fields of service, in many different communities. Today, CSS works in three priority areas, serving individuals with disabilities, children and families, and newcomers to Canada. Each year, more than 20,000 Albertans are lifted and empowered through 90 CSS programs, in 12 communities, across Central Alberta. Sign of Hope is the charitable arm of CSS. Through donor and community support, Sign of Hope is able to sustain CSS` ability to serve.
