Book of Life

We invite you to use the Book of Life as a way or remembering persons and special needs. You can include the names of the living or deceased. Soon, SALC will be publishing another book with the remarkable testimonies of persons who attribute healing or peace through the Book of Life. We invite you to both use the Book of Life and to submit your stories as well.

In the 1980’S, Sister Mary Agnes, a cloistered Carmelite nun, created the world’s first interfaith website prayer network for persons in serious need. Each time a name was submitted, she connected with a variety of healing sites and communities of prayer around the world. Mary Agnes was grateful for the remarkable reports regarding the relief of spiritual suffering.

In 1997, Sister died and willed her project to the Groves’ as they established the Sacred Art of Living Community. The “Book of Life” now resides at SALC’s St. Raphael Chapel and has received more than forty thousand requests from around the world.

Sacred Art of Living Community has continued this tradition and expanded the number of prayer sites literally around the globe, representing all major faith traditions.  Whenever a name is submitted in the book, in person or virtually, it is held in prayerful reverence around the world as well as by the global Sacred Art of Living Community. The Book of Life is also an integral part of all Sacred Art of Living Community programs.
