Mary and Richard Groves, JCL, MA, MDiv. are co-founders of the Sacred Art of Living Center and internationally respected teachers of the sacred art of dying. Together, Richard and Mary bring more than sixty years of education, chaplaincy and pastoral counseling experience to The Anamcara Project. Richard is the creator of the Sacred Art of Living and Dying series and Mary offers her dynamic skills as a ritual master and grief educator. Their programs are now offered in North America, Europe and Asia with invitations that include Australia and Latin America.
Paula D’Arcy, PhD is the author of eight books and is widely recognized as an eloquent and powerful speaker and teacher around the world. She is a counselor who lectures frequently on issues of bereavement, loss and healing. Paula is also a skilled retreat facilitator for women and the creator of A Women’s Rite of Passage Retreat and an award-winning play, “On My Way Home.” Paula lives and writes in Kerrville, Texas. www.redbirdfoundation.com
Tom Golden, LCSW is an author, speaker and psychotherapist from Gaithersburg, Maryland. He has worked in the field of healing and loss for twenty five years, particularly in issues related to men and loss. His book, Swallowed by a Snake: The Gift of the Masculine Side of Healing is a groundbreaking work on male grief. Stanislav Grof, MD, PhD, is a psychiatrist with over forty years experience of research into non-ordinary states of consciousness and one of the founders and chief theoreticians of transpersonal psychology. Stan was born in Prague, Czechoslovakia, where he also received his scientific training - an M.D. degree and a Ph.D. from the Czechoslovakian Academy of Sciences. At present, he lives in Mill Valley, California, conducting training seminars for professionals in Holotropic Breathwork and transpersonal psychology. Michael Kearney, MD, FRCPI has over twenty five years experience in Internal and Palliative Medicine. He has trained at St. Christopher’s Hospice in London and served as medical director of Our Lady’s Hospice, Dublin. Michael is an internationally respected lecturer and author. In Montreal, he worked with Dr. Balfour Mount as Visiting Professor at McGill Medical School. He is currently based in Santa Barbara helping to establish a hospital-based palliative care program. Dr. Kearney is a permanent faculty member and medical director of The Anamcara Project.
Thomas Keating, OCSO is a Cistercian priest, monk and abbot who resides at St. Benedict Monastery in Snowmass, Colorado. Father Keating is a modern spiritual master. Founder of the worldwide Centering Prayer and Contemplative Outreach movements, he is also an author and retreat master whose work has influenced many persons of all professions and faith traditions. Through Keating, many Christian audiences have benefited from a range of spiritual teachers and a variety of contemplative traditions including masters from the Hindu and Buddhist lineages. Henriette Anne Klauser, PhD is a best-selling writer and co-author of The American Book of Dying: Lessons in Healing Spiritual Pain together with The Anamcara Project Director, Richard Groves. As the founder of Writing Resources in Edmonds, Washington, she leads workshops internationally on using the power of the written word to build relationships, bring families together, and heal emotional wounds. www.henrietteklauser.com
Christina Tourin is a second generation harpist, who began playing harp at the age of four. She received Music and Education degrees from the University of Vermont and also studied harp at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria and at McGill University in Montreal. She is an active workshop organizer and has been instrumental in the revival of the folk harp since the early 1970's. In 1982 she founded the Scottish Harp Society of America and is also the Director of the Int'l Harp Therapy Program. Her latest book is: Cradle of Sound, a comprehensive harp therapy manual.
